1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using WhatToCook ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

WhatToCook is an AI-powered recipe discovery platform. Users add products they have (via receipt scanning, photo recognition, catalog selection, or manual input) and receive personalized recipe suggestions generated by artificial intelligence.

3. User Accounts

You must create an account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

4. Credits and Payments

• New users receive 3 free credits upon registration
• Each recipe generation request costs 1 credit. Scanning receipts, photos, and using the product catalog is free
• Additional credits can be purchased in packages: 10 credits / $1.99, 50 credits / $7.99, 100 credits / $12.99
• Payments are processed securely through WayForPay. We do not store your full payment details
• Credits do not expire and are non-transferable
• Refunds are available under our refund policy

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Attempt to circumvent access restrictions or security measures
• Upload malicious content, spam, or content unrelated to food products
• Use automated tools to scrape or overload the Service
• Resell or redistribute generated recipes commercially without attribution

6. AI-Generated Content

Recipes are generated by artificial intelligence and are provided for informational purposes. While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee that recipes are safe for all dietary needs, allergies, or medical conditions. Always use your own judgment when preparing food.

7. Data Ownership

You retain ownership of all content you upload (product photos, receipt images). By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process your uploads through AI systems for the purpose of providing the Service. We do not claim ownership of your data.

8. Service Availability

We aim to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or technical issues. We are not liable for any losses resulting from service downtime.

9. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with the following third-party providers:

• Anthropic (Claude AI): Recipe generation and image recognition
• WayForPay: Payment processing
• Google: OAuth authentication
• Brevo: Email delivery

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

10. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of the Service, including but not limited to health issues from following AI-generated recipes.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, unused credits are non-refundable unless otherwise required by law.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification.
